Butler County Water Festival
The 9th annual Butler County Water Festival was held October 13, 2006 at Miami University Hamilton. Nearly 1,000 area fourth, fifth and sixth graders participated in this hands on event consisting of forty-five, thirty minute hands on activity workshops conducted around campus that focused on a number of environmental and natural science issues. The sessions focus on issues that not only affect the water, wildlife and the environment; but could also have impacts on human health, as well. The event has been highly successful in promoting greater environmental awareness about our valuable water resource among participants in the program. |

Some of last year's presenters included several Butler and Hamilton County agencies, Raptors Incorporated, and the Cincinnati Zoo. Each of these organizations took time to discuss the importance of the water cycle for humans and all animals as they emphasize to children how important it is for them to help protect our precious water resource. | ||
